About Us
Our Mission
The Truth Foundation is an outsource patient advocate for women battling against cervical cancer. We believe that every woman has the right to quality medical services and access to all curative avenues to successfully defeat this deadly disease regardless of the kind of insurance coverage the patient has. At the front lines of this epidemic we believe that education is the key. The Truth Foundation is committed to community outreach, educating about HPV and the strains which cause cervical cancer, and answering the tough questions in truth. We’re dedicated to empowering women with firsthand knowledge about the disease in an effort to save lives. In addition, we offer temporary financial assistance to women who are the sole providers of their households if hospitalized for a month or more and for families without life insurance preparing for final expenses. Living with HPV does not mean you’re going to die or that it will turn into cancer. There are millions of women living normal lives with HPV, and the body can protect against certain strains and suppress HPV on its own. But the key to prevention is knowledge, and the empowerment of truth.
Our Goal
Our goal is to ensure that all curative avenues are explored and that no stone goes unturned in the treatment of women with cervical cancer. We also aim to bring HPV to the forefront of serious issues within the community, and promote strategies that can prevent both cervical cancer and HPV across the board.
Our History
The idea of The Truth Foundation was spawned by Bernard Laverne and his wife LenNyika while they battled as partners with cervical cancer in 2008. Nyika, as she was known by family and close friends, later lost her life to cervical cancer at the young age of 29, and Bernard went on to found the organization in 2009 bringing he and his wife’s vision of service to fruition.
